ponytail palm with pink shoot

Lookin for information on the Pony Tail Palm. It has a shoot out of the top that looks like a Bright Pink christmas tree. We have lived here in Florida with this tree for 13 yrs and never seen it do this. Any answer would be of help before the tree looses this

 

It's blooming.

 

Thank you Ron, its the first bloom in the 13 years we have had it and in the past year it has shot up and now is very tall.
