I have what I believe to be a Ponytail Palm however it does not have a large base. The stem has several roots showing but nothing larger. It is 5-6 years old. Could I have missed identifing this plant? Pemberg

please post a pic of it - could be a ponytail palm or a pregnant onion.

generally, the ponytail palms are very slow growing and the base doesn't get too large until they are quite old.

If it doesn't have a thickened base, it may be an arborescent Nolina or a Yucca.

Looks like Dracaena marginata, Madagascar Dragon Tree.

If it doesn't have a thickened base it cannot be a "Ponytail" Beaucarnea.

Your plant in the picture is definitely Draceana marginata. (the names Dracaena concinna and D. cincta are now considered synonymous.) If you had mention it had red along the leaf margin, ID would have been much quicker.
