Just found your site when looking for info on Pony tail palms. We live in Central Fl. Threre were 10-12 of these plants/treeas in front of the house we purchased 2 years ago. They range in height from maybe 5-20 ft. All have very small trunks. When we moved in they were in a bed of white rocks. None of them looked really healthy. All the leaves had brown tips. Recently our landscaper removed the rocks and added plants to the bed. They are looking less healthy now. The top looks completely dead on the tallest one in the corner. It get run off rain from the roof but it's been there for 10 years. The former owners told us they needed lots of water, but we have not been watering since we get a good bit of rain. Is there any way to bring this one back and to make sure we don't loose the rest? How can we make them healthier? Thanks, b

Oh gosh! I hope you find a solution to your problem. I have a little Pony Tail inside my house and it gets brown tips on occassion... although it gets over it.

Yours sound wonderful! Can you post a pic?

They hardly need any rain - they're succulent and have probably been drowning in that runoff! The owners were probably just trying to make the house sound more desirable. See if you can lessen the constant wetness and if they appreciate that.

I have 2 ponytail palm trees that look like they went to seed. The growth has turned brown, like it is dead, can it be cut off?
