I've read about many problems w/rotting at root, however, I have a 20 yr old ponytail that has rotted at the top. Was out of town, had folks "helping" me and much rain that apparently gave rot to the top ponytail leaves. Breaks my heart, but I did prune down to healthy looking stem. Now just a stick on top a large bulb that is healthy looking in every other way. I have a friend whose plant froze one year and all the leaves burned off the top and it sprouted in many places along the top and is gorgeous w/lots of side shoot areas now. Much fuller and more interesting. Hoping mine would like to follow suit. Any thots out there in pony-tail land?
