    Late blight, the same blight of the Irish Potato Disaster in 1848, is prevalent in the area this year, so a plant was dug to check for damage. None was apparent. The weight of the potatoes was eight pounds, which is considered excellent, near the top of the chart. Some people ar claiming from 10 to 15 pounds per plant, I believe this is only an estimate. I consider five to ten pound per plant to be typical.

    Your potatoes look great Durgan. It certainly looks like a pretty good harvest for one plant.
