A house I garden at in Kent England has a pond. It has never really been a success because it is under trees etc, however last year it was all cleaned out.
However, recently, a plant has totally taken over the surface of the pond and I think, when I try to scoop it out with a net under the water as well.
The pond water seems quite clean and there are no unpleasant smells but having looked on the internet I see no ID for the plant that I can trust.
    Any comments are useful.
Note: The pond has newts but no fish. I am about to introduce some oxygenating weed (which I was given) and some fresh water lilies, whether this will help I am not sure.
Thank you, and look forward to your comments.
