i have an oriental pear tree...right now it is really beginning to bloom....i also have a moon glow pear tree that is starting to do the same....will my moon glow pollinate my oriental...the trees are about 40 feet apart.....there are some more oriental pears about 200 yards from mine....i have heard you can cross pollinate theses trees by hand........need some help........thanks.........dave
well i didnt know if the moon glow would cross pollinate with the oriental or if the other oriental pears were to far away to cross pollinate.....all the orientals are young trees and not very big.........thanks
I have no first hand info but I am pretty sure that european pears can cross-pollinate several varieties of asian pears. I think Hosui is one. Better to check with the nursery; they better (ought) to know.
