What is the best way to get rid of/kill poison ivy? I just bought a new home and the grass hasn't grown in and there are a lot of small poison ivy plants all over my yard!!! I need to know how to get rid of them before they get any larger! Thanks!

Selective broadleaf herbicides will work. But they will kill grass seed when its swollen and ready to sprout.

    roundup kills everything.
    replant your grass later.

Round up may not be always that effective on well established broadleaf weeds, its more of a grassy weed killer. Whereas selective herbicides like Killex, Diphenoprop, or Amitrol-T will totally kill the Poison Ivy and not hurt you grasses, except the seed right at its time of germination. But I would never suggest that a unexperienced herbicide user use anything but just plain old Killex, if they must use anything at all. And always make sure to ware gloves while mixing at label rates! Jim.
