plz help identify this flower/plant

    Hi Everyone,

    I am a student a a local college and I took picture of this flower in front of my yard. I need help identify the name of this flower so I can properly title it.

    Background:

    This flower have a very distiquish ability, in which every day around 10AM-4PM the flower begin to bloom. Late in the afternoon and at night, the flower close up until next morning.

    A picture of the whole plant is needed for correct Aizoaceae species identification.

    It looks like a Lampranthus.

    It still looks like a Lampranthus.

    Most Mesembs are commonly called "Ice Plant" but thats not going to help you any. Other succulents are commonly called that also.

    I seem to recall Ed calling that particular one "Pigface" as well.

    Yes Iceplant or pigface. Maybe Pigface is just an Aussie term...
