/home/owner/Desktop/PlumWithVoid04.jpg /home/owner/Desktop/PlumWithVoid02.jpg A client brought me a couple of plums (redish-maybe Santa Rosa, he didn't know) that when sliced in half have voids in the lower part beneath the pit. Some are small and some take up about about 1/3 of the flesh. He sent me pics but I don't know how to get them on this thread. (What I put above doesn't open.) (I now have two lovely pics of plums on the ubuntu desk top) Has anyone run across this before? Any ideas would be a great help. OMG IT WORKED!!! http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=83728&stc=1&d=1279857326 http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=83729&stc=1&d=1279857326
This may help you. ( Last line in 1st paragraph.) Quote from link......" Hanging on the tree longer than this results in lower fruit quality as voids and gas pockets develop in the flesh" http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=...Q6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q=plums voids fruit&f=false So, it looks as if they should be picked earlier.
