I have a plumeria I have had for about 2 years. It was in a small pot and I bought a new bigger pot to transplant. Now before I have transplanted it it is starting to wilt. Today I transplanted it and there are no roots attached to the bottom of the stalk. Have I lost it??? I will be so sad. If anyone has a suggestion I am open to receiving them. Thank you.

2 years and it hasn't developed roots?? Sounds strange, maybe when you repotted you accidentaly ripped the roots off? I will be interested to see what others think

It had roots before but I think it got to big for the pot. That is why I repotted it. Now there are no roots attached to the stem. Could I get some cuttings somehow and re-start it?

If the stem is not mushy it would be worth a try I guess

Purchased some cutting when I was in Hawaii. One of the cuttings got real mussy. Cut the rotten part off let stand for 2 weeks, then applied some rootone. Believe it or not plant rooted and bloomed the second year. Hope this works for you.

sounds like there was rot happening and when you unpotted it, the roots came away. i'd cut the bottom portion off until you see clean white flesh and let it calous over for at least a week (let it dry out) and then plant it in the new pot for it to root. use rootone or not, it doesn't seem to matter with them. don't water it until you see new leaf growth - then just water sparingly until the new leaves are growing very well. then, once it's growing well, get it back on a good watering schedule.

the soil should be VERY well draining.
