I have a plumb tree that apears to be extreamly healthy. I noticed a few bores (apprx. 3/8" dia.) aprrox. a foot from the base of the tree. I sprayed water in the bores and some of the water made its way through what appears to be a nearby crack in the tree. I did not see any insects. Can these bores only be made by insects? Is my tree a goner, or can I fill the bores with something to protect from future damage?
