I have just read with interest your comments regarding a diseased plum tree. I have recently moved house and have a very old looking plum tree in my garden. Being only an amateur gardener I could not guess the variety of plum tree or how old it is. However, it looks very similar to the photographs displayed by James Molloy, posted August 9th 2005. I will be following the advice given to him and will be having the tree cut back to see whether this will save it. Should I get a specialist to do this or will it be okay if the tree is just heavily cut back? Also, if James Molloy is still a member, could he tell me whether the action suggested to him worked? I will very much appreciate some advice as I haven't a clue what to do but would like to save the tree if at all possible!! Thank you! Thelma
