I live in Prince George. A small tree has been growing in our garden since we moved into our present home 4 years ago. From its size, I suspect it started growing a year or two before that. I have been to the local garden centre about it, but they don't know what it is, either. I don't believe that plums are not commonly grown here, but I think it looks somewhat like a plum. Maybe it is another fruit tree. It has never blossomed or formed flower buds.

A couple of summers ago, it was damaged by a Bobcat tractor, but it continued growing. The past couple of springs have been unusual insofar as warm weather has come early, but has been followed by a week or two of hard frosts three or four weeks after the warm weather. Although the weather has killed or damaged a lot of perennials, it doesn't seem to have affected the growth of this tree.

    Anybody any ideas?

    Ted

It reminds me more of something in the pear-apple complex, but I'm not going to bet the farm on that impression.
