Can you identify this tree ? Are the fruits edible ? It has cherry style bark, purple/green leaves, bright red fruit with sweet yellow flesh and definite plum stone. havent been able to find anything to match it on internet ID sites for plum varieties.
Sounds like one of the purple-leaf cultivars of Prunus cerasifera (Cherry Plum). Edible, and can be quite nice. Geen leaves might be from a root sucker from below the graft. http://ip30.eti.uva.nl/BIS/flora.php?selected=beschrijving&menuentry=soorten&id=2712
