Pls help me id this plant.

    Excuse the tree branch.

    I cut this green stem off the mother plant which is a magnificent tower of 10 feet (consisting of numerous trunks). It looks very similar to a pencil cactus but its sticks are all upward-pointing and it has a lot of aerial roots (with green tips) like those of an orchid.

    I've searching for its name for a long time but to no avail.

    Papilionanthe hookeriana perhaps?

    I did more searches on the net for pics and it appears to be so!
    So this is an orchid of the vanda family.

    Gee, I planted it in soil.
    Think I better have it placed in the usual orchid media.

    Being a plant of bogs it's probably OK in potting soil.
