These 2 plants I was not able to ID. Please help me. I bought these from local nurseries who do not know the plants. The one with leaves have red flowers like the honeysuckle. the one in the pot have small insignificant flowers and the plants just grom in layers.

    Thanks.

the first one looks like a fig (ficus) of some description. (i could be mistaken of course) Don't know the second one sorry.

edit: on second look I am confident that it IS in fact a fig. Looks like Port Jackson fig to me another locally indigenous semi-tropical fig. Ficus rubiginosa. Anyone else?

HA, nice one Davie in L A! that's what I was thinking of for the second, but I didn't know the name. I have some of that growing to about 4m outside my backdoor, just finishing flowering now.

Thanks martin and david for that.

My first plant is not a ficus. The leaves are less than an inch long ovate and they are in cluster. It grows in layers. It has thorns. The local nursery told me the name of this plant is bushida but I can't find a plant with this name.
