Populus deltoides or Populus x canadensis?

What's a good way to distinguish between the two?

    I read P.deltoides isn't common in Europe?

I'd say Populus × canadensis. A very widely planted timber tree throughout most of Europe.

Correct that P. deltoides is very rarely planted in Europe; it also usually has more coarsely serrated leaves with fewer, larger teeth.
