(Lindera benzoin?) This photo was taken yesterday in South Central Ohio. I thought maybe it was Spice Bush, but the end bud was round and not pointed like others I have seen. The plant is very small (about 2 meters tall) and is growing on an eastern facing hillside in a heavily wooded area. Unfortunately this is the best photo I have. The other two did not turn out very well since there was so much glare off the camera.
Wow, that is a much better photo than I have seen of spice bush. Next time I am there I will have to check it out more closely. Thanks Lila.
