Hi! I'm new. I have a question. I'm looking for this Grevillea for a present, and it's important that it is the exact one. It must be like the one showing in the images bellow. I don't know if it's a Grevillea Rosmarinifolia or a Canberra Gem. Could you tell me which one is it? What's the difference between one and the other? http://img373.imageshack.us/my.php?image=arbusto5ed7.jpg Thank you very much
There are many. Since you have to find and buy one to present it to the recipient, try asking at suppliers if they have the same one (show them your pictures). You don't necessarily even have to get the exact name first, and also if nobody has the same exact one for sale at present then you might have to settle for a similar one anyway.
I'm afraid that even the suppliers don't know it. I had an incident with one of them who assured me it was the same and then it wasn't even a Grevillea.
Maybe try ordering over internet or through mail from a specialist in the group. It being in a public landscape probably (although not necessarily) not a rare one, presumably supplied by wholesale operation - could even by one produced in mass quantity.
It's not easy for me to find them. I've been one month trying to identify and locate this plant, and whenever it seems I've done it either they don't know which one is it nor will ship it to spain...
Have you seen this site.It seems to answer you first question of how to tell the two apart. http://www.anbg.gov.au/acra/descriptions/acc092.html
Try these pics then work backwards into the web page for possible name. http://images.google.com.au/images?hl=en&q=grevillia+red+flowers&btnG=Search+Images&gbv=2 It is grevillia but ????? Liz
Thank you, I tried that already... I'm not able to distinguish it between the two of them just by looking at it... that's why I asked for your help...
