    Hi everyone,

New to the forum, so please bear with me.

Friend of mine recently sent me a couple of pics hoping I could somehow help identify this palm. Alas I could not. He's had it for years now, in fact, he bought it way back in 1992, and apparently the previous owner had had for 18 years prior to that - which would theoretically make this specimen about 38 years(!) old.... knowing next to nothing about plants and it not being mine, I cannot vouch for any truth in these figures.

Any help would be appreciated in helping to ID this unique looking specimen.

    Regards.

    Thank you saltcedar,

Encephalartos Horridus by the looks of it...

Will do some research on it.
