This bush (tree?) has become very large (now ~ 15 ft high) and is taking over my fish pond perimeter. The branches grow long and upright but then lay over toward the ground, forming the pink leaves/flowers at the very end. The flowers (pink leaves surrounding 1/4 - 1/2 inch white blooms) began in the spring and are still blooming now in November here in the Houston, Texas area. I've been waiting for the plant to quit blooming before pruning but I don't know when that will be. Its a lovely plant but the branches are very thorny. I don't want to damage it but I must don my heavy leather gloves and cut it back. Thanks for your help.
