Please identify this cactus plant / flower

    A church gave me this plant and said it was a cactus. I can't find any pictures to identify. I've had for 4 months and now it is flowering. The flowers don't last but a few days. Need info on care and how to handle during the winter months here in SE USA.

    Flower buds and petals too pointed for that species, does not show much of the characteristic long, vining shoots with paddle-shaped (leaf-like) stem sections breaking out of the original clump either. Probably an Epiphyllum, just not that particular one.
