    Please help me identify the Plant in image D (images of this plant posted below) in my garden.

    Image D, D1, D2, and D3 are all the same plant.

    Regarding whether the hemerocallis (daylily) is edible: you can do the usual searches now that you know the name, and you will discover some sites claiming that they are (with a few of these giving a word of warning).
