My sister has these plants in her garden in England but we don't know what they are called can anyone help?
1. Agree with robyn. Probably Aruncus dioicus. Previously known as Aruncus sylvestris. Initially it looks very similar to Astilbe, but is a more vigorous plant that gets taller than Astilbe. With larger leaflets http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aruncus 2. Yes, Actaea. However, there are a few cultivars with the deep bronze/ purple coloured leaves. eg. Actaea simplex Atropurpurea group. it is very difficult to pin down exactly which one it is. http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Ac...&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi&biw=1272&bih=501
