Found this plant(s) in the mostly dry high desert under a juniper tree. Has hollow stems. Pretty lush compared to most other vegetation even though it's spring. Flower sites between nodes. Any idea what it is?

Compare with Chenopodium species - it looks like what we call Goose Spinach here in Ecuador.

Looks like C. californicum, also common on the coast.
