    Please help Identify

Please help me identify this plant. I do not know anything about it except one of my friends gave it to me and I replanted it in this pot. I have had it for about a week and would like to know how big it will get and how to take care of it.

I'm thinking Myrtillocactus geometrizans because it looks to have the "patterning" on the column (it's named for these markings). My stenocereus griseus has a thicker-looking, solid green skin (much like a cucumber, which is my private name for it) compared to the the myrtillocactus. Carl's Plant of the Week has info on myrtillocactus so you can read his description and see how it compares to your plant at www.plantoftheweek.org/week374.shtml.

Check the plant of the week site I sent you on the other thread; it gives cultivation tips for myrtillocactus geometrizans. If not that plant, you can also search by common name, genus and/or family also. Good luck.

Oh the shame of it all.

Stenocereus pruinosus with some dried "straw flowers" stuck on top.

The "flowers" do not belong to the plant. You should remove them.

I did remove the flowers and it is doing very well after being repotted in that pot, have a new one I got last week its a dutchmans pipe can't wait til it blooms. Its already a fairly mature plant so I expect it to bloom one night later this summer.
