Please help to identify Blue flower

Please help with identifying this plant it is about 10 to 12 inches high with blue flowers which turn white as they age. The flowers are about 1 to 2 inches across.

The leaves are about half an inch wide 2 inches long with what looks like spines but are actually soft.

 

Welcome GailR. It is Isotoma axillaris. A gorgeous plant with a long flowering period. Killed by cold,sadly.
