As previously stated i recently purchased a Trachycarpus Fortunei and a Cordyline Australis and i want to put them in bigger pots.
    1) Is is safe to do this at this time of year or should i wait
    2) What is the best compost to use for these trees and
    3) Would it be better to put them in the ground and if so when
    Thanks

    1) Yes, safe this time of year.
    2) Regular average garden mix is fine. No special requirements.
    3) Both of these will grow more vigorous in the ground. Cordyline australis slows down conciderably once the large "carrot like" tap root bottoms out in a container.

    Cheers, LPN.

P.S. I should also add ... Don't plant in an area where drainage may be a problem.
