Hello, I have recently moved into an apartment and begun a patio garden. About a month ago i noticed an outbreak of aphids. I tried my best to spray them everyday with dish soap, oil and water but they have spread to all 20 of my various veggies and herbs. My next defense was to purchase some ladybugs and put them out. I followed the directions of the woman at garden works and sprayed the plants with water at dusk and sprinkled only a few ladybugs on each plant. That was so they all had enough to eat. The next morning they were all gone so I tried the same thing but at dawn. This also did not work. Could someone please let me know what I am doing wrong? I don't think my plants can stand much more destruction and my last little hopes keep leaving on me. Thank you! Stacy
Hi, I do not have ladybugs leaving problem, so no idea what to do. However, I can, somehow deal with aphids quite well. The usual pesticide from garden centre will do, spray them, they will be gone. The pesticides are actually organic, so no harm to your garden. You have to watch the area all the time, spray when you see them, aphids will be gone today after spraying but will appear again so quickly, so deal with them, after a while, they will be gone. good luck.
