I have this plant growing in my garden. It was given to me by a friend. She told me it was a plant in the Crown of Thorns family. However, it is much different then any I have seen. It has beautiful flowers but very mean thorns. I usually have great respect for it and stay out of it's way except to care for it which I am very careful around. However, I did a stupid thing and got hit very hard and deep one of it's thorns (my stupid mistake) and now my hand is swollen and very tender. One of the reasons to know more about this plant.

This is my first time to submit pics so hope I am doing this correctly.

    Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your help. Looks like you were right on the money. Googled it and the pics match perfectly. Didn't find anything about a thorn puncture being poisonous in anyway. I'm sure the soreness and swelling will go away in a few days. Got a lot of good information about the plant though.
