I am in western TN and have a garden each year. This year there was a sprout in the ground near my garden and it looked like a squash, cucumber or watermelon plant so I transplanted it into the garden.

It has completely taken over and grows an enormous amount daily to the point that I thought it was kudzu. Can anyone help identify?

The flowers seem to die and do not produce anything so far. I have been told that it's a moonvine but I do not think that is accurate. It just grows way too fast like an invasive plant

I did more research on your comment and I think you are correct. I had birdhouse gourds a few years ago and my dog "ate" some of those gourds in the yard this year. I think that's it.

thank you very much for your assistance. It's coming out of the ground by the weekend ;)
