Please help me identify this plant?

    This is a picture I took in July while backpacking in the Gates of the Mountains Wilderness in Northwest Montana. I have tried several guides but cannot find this plant in any of them. Thanks

    Looks rather like some sort of Orobanche, common name Broomrape. A group of parasitic plants which live off the roots of other plants incuding broom. Hence the name.
