These pictures are from the same plant growing in a lake north of Squamish, B.C. at a depth of between 3-12 feet. I'm thinking it's some sort of Pond Weed, which I think is NON-invasive. I would like to rule out the possibility of milfoil. Thanks, Pär Noren Vancouver
its not milfoil myriophyllum http://images.google.com/images?hl=...4,GGLG:en&sa=N&resnum=0&q=myriophyllum&tab=wi possible it is a potamogeton spp http://www.toyen.uio.no/botanisk/nbf/plantefoto/potamogeton_natans_Norman_Hagen01.jpg http://images.google.com/images?sou...8&rls=GGLG,GGLG:2006-24,GGLG:en&q=potamogeton for comparison
Thanks. After looking at some of the links you sent, I think the closest is the Potamogeton epihydrus. Does anybody know if this is an invasive plant and needs combating? It has started to spread so I'm a little concerned. Par
Most of the pages listing Potamogeton species only call P. crispus invasive. In fact some states (Indiana in particular) list P. epihydrus as endangered. Don't know what the status in BC is. Found this page on aquatic plant keys for BC that might be of interest. It is somewhat technical in nature. Harry
