Please help me identify these.

    Pass by these trees everyday - but don't know what they are.

    #1 looks most like Freeman Maple Acer × freemanii (hybrid Silver Maple A. saccharinum × Red Maple A. rubrum) but could be a Red Maple.

    #2 is Vine Maple Acer circinnatum.

    #3 is Japanese Maple Acer palmatum.

    #3 Sweetgum (Liquidambar styraciflua) I think.

    On #3, are the leaves in opposite pairs, or alternate along the shoot?

    on #3, the leaves are in groups -- groups are alternate.

    each group has about 3-5 leaves, starting practically at same root

    Think it's spelled Acer circinatum or are both spellings considered correct?
