I photographed this flower at the Chicago Botanic Gardens in their Aster bed late fall. I contacted them but no one that planted the garden was able to identify it. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks Tom
hi just a thought. there are two distinct types of asters. the annuals called china asters and the perenial ones called Michaelmus daises. guessing from the pic , and limited info I will suggest it could either the skylands queen blooms august and on/ . The aster frikarti from mid summer into october. or the blue jacket 3 to 4 feet tall free flowering. All of which I believe are clasified as Michaelmus daises, hope this helps
