I have a mature jade plant that has been extremely healthy for many years. In recent weeks it has developed white fuzzy patches on the leaves, under which the leaf is brown. In addition, in the areas where the affected leaves are found the branches have white spots on them, but no fuzzy patches. Can anyone help to identify the problem and offer a cure? Thanks.

Sounds very much like you have an infestation of mealy bugs (Google for Pic). For the most part it is just a matter of rubbing them off with your finger. The love to hide in tight places where you can’t reach, so use a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol. Avoid chemical sprays or anything drastic or you risk dome heavy leaf drop. Just be president and your plant will be fine. It’s a very common pest.
