We just moved into a new townhouse and have a very small garden area. The landscapers have jammed 10 of this plant into the garden about a foot and a half apart. I think I'd like to dig them up and plant some nice perennials in my small garden. I want flowers and colour.

    Probably Hydrangea quercifolia.

No doubt about it. Will produce heads of conspicuous white flowers during summer and have handsome fall color. But will not fit into that narrow bed.
