This tree has been planted in Jamor, Portugal, but is obviously non-native.
Can you lease help me to identify it?

I am new in this area. I have read that there are several dozens of species of Brachychiton. Is there any systematic way to compare them, or it is just of question of studying the original descriptions?

These two resources were referenced to compare viridiflorus to populneus. VERY few plants/trees have triangular leaves and because of the likeness to your plant is why Brian most likely got it right.
