hello, i've search around and have been able to identify most of my plants, but i havnt had luck with a few. i hope some of you can help me out. any help or advice will be welcome. im sorta new to attaching pictures so i hope they show up ;) this is the first one second one, this one is dying :( would love some help on how to care for this one third fourth and the last
OK 2) Cordyline "Rubra" or "Negra". If the leaves are that dark purple, nearly black, it will be Negra. Maybe more light, mine are growing in full sun but I live in a subtropical climate. Whats your watering regime on this one? 4) Dracaena of some sort, hard to tell from the photos 5) Dracena fragrans "compacta" Can't tell with the others, the photos are so small. I don't know if you can enlarge them, or maybe my eyes are getting bad lol!! Ed
Thanks edleigh7 ! sorry the pictures were so small, not sure what i did wrong there. i'll give it one more try thanks a lot for taking the time to look at my plants and sending a reply :) first second third fourth and lastly
Sorry mate, didn't help me with 1 & 3, lol. What makes you think number 2 is dying? And what is you watering regime with this plant? Ed
the second plant was full of leaves wen i first got it, then they started slowing falling off from the bottom up, there is some new growth but very little. the leaves falling off is the main reason i believe its dying also the deep purple color has faded abit. for watering i wait till the dirt is almost dry, usualy 1.5 to 2 weeks between waterings. i water with rain water wen its available or RO water out of the tap. i havn't tried any fertilizer. it gets indirect light from a north facing window. i'v had the plant since a few weeks after mothersday, was part of some flower arrangement thing that was going to get tossed in the trash. i'd hate to lose it, i really like the color. i'm just glad you were able to identify the ones you did, helps alot! thanks again
the first one, the codyline, they need high humidity to grow proper. Get tray and put some pebbles in it. Fill it with water and place the plant ontop of the pebbles. This creates a small area of humidity around the plant. I doit with my Asplenum
That is a nice-looking coffee plant, so you must be doing something right! I cannot tell you how many coffees I have killed.
