I drive by this plant everyday. It is along a roadside leading down to the Grand River. The plant has bluish-green, broad leaves up to 12" across. It grows up to 5.5ft in height. The flowers look like those produced by astilbe and are dusky pink in colour. Could this be commonly known as False Goatsbeard?

Macleaya microcarpa. M. cordata has fluffier plumes. I seldom see that here, in fact M. microcarpa has been sold in its place.
