I really need help identifying my indoor bonsai, It was bought for me as a present last year no tag or id on it. I have several outdoor specimens but only this indoor. I don't know how to place a picture of it though , so can you help with that first. I have click manage attachments and uploaded the picture, maybe thats it. ...I would be very grateful for your help. :). AH just previewed post . There he is. 53cm tall a standard garden centre is place of purchase. Forgot to mention it hasn't flowered so I don't think it has a flower:(

I was thinking along the lines of privet but this does not survive below 10 degrees celsius, I thought all ligustrum were far hardier than that.

    I thought privet too.

Think of all the privet hedges everywhere in the U.K. surviving outside whatever the winter. With temperatures well below freezing.

Bonsais are a tree, kept artificially small. They are not houseplants and should be kept outdoors. ( Unless a tropical sp)

Sorry I think I posted the wrong link. Privet hedges that are popular in the UK are Ligustrum ovalifolium.

By the way, the flowers smell disgusting. They always remind me of cat pee!
To keep it neat and small , bonsaiish, you must keep trimming it, so with any luck will never get the flowers, as they are at the end of the shoots!
