I received an email from a friend of my daughter who cannot identify this "shrub" growing in her yard. I asked a few questions and received these answers:

    1. Stems not necessarily woody, but strong
    2. 20" high by 4' across
    3. Retains its leaves, turning red in the Fall
    4. The center of the plant produces tiny yellow flowers - no fragrance
    5. The plant is cut down in the Spring and grows back quickly
    6. The plant is growing in a shady spot by day, evening sun

I have attached a few photos (and have more if necessary to identify). Thank you!
