I just had this crimson red plant given to me and have no idea what it is. Any help is appreciated. It stands about 10 inches tall. Thank you in advance
Looks like Lobelia cardinalis. Now there are all kinds of cultivars of pink to red lobelia, with green leaves or dark red leaves. This is one of those, but exactly which one, I can't say. They are moisture lovers here in my area, and the slugs and snails chomp them relentlessly while they are small.
Thank you very much. I am in Southern Ontario, so perhaps might not have the same problem with the slugs and snails. So far in my garden I haven't seen a snail and the only slugs have been on my morning glories. Now I know the name, I can research the best way to take care of it.
