Hello, I am new to the Forum. I was wondering if anyone know what this shrub is with white, thick, 2 inch 5-petal flowers that resemble a Jasmine shrub; it's very fragrant ... but has large red berries? I saw it in Dana Point, California. I was hoping to find one in a nursery, but am clueless on its name. Any advise would be helpful. --Thanks! ~Lynn.

Carissa macrocarpa is a great plant. The ripe red fruit are edible, often used for making jams. However, the unripe green fruit are toxic/poisonous.
