Identification: please help identify my dying plant

    Personally I would put it in a bigger pot for a start

    Or its owner.---I suspect a drip-watering thing, but one just never knows, does one? The cup might contain some substance thought to be innocuous but in reality TOXIC to Strelitzia!!!---To quote Big Bird: "A good way to find things out is to ask questions." Indeed!

    okay, so the cup was in the pot keeping it from leaning too far over, I was actually taking it out but realized I left it in for the picture. I did some research on this plant and it sounds like it needs to be in a smaller pot. I thought maybe I'd buy another Birds of Paradise and pot it with the existing one. Maybe he just needs a friend? I've had to cut off 4 other leaves because they died. :-(
