I've searched the internet trying to ID this plant but haven't had much luck! This is my first post, hope it works. This plant resembles a yucca or possibly a type of Cordyline? I live in Houston, Tx and it was given to me looking rather sickly a couple of years ago, but it has turned out to be a real beauty! Hopefully once it is identified I can also figure out what pest is getting to it, but that is probably another thread altogether, although I will send a photo of the attacked area as well. Thanks in advance!

    A Yucca, maybe Y. aloifolia.

I've tried comparing it to most yuccas but I've never seen any with the long spindly erratic growing arms. Another thing, its never given an indication that it blooms. Thanks for your quick response Ron B, but I'm not yet convinced we have the right one!

It looks like the corn dracena houseplant I have. They can be grown outdoors in zones 10, 11. Maybe try looking in that direction?

Yes, it would be that one. The species name escaped me at the time.

ALRIGHT!!! It certainly looks like Y. Guatemalensis!
Thanks you all for your help and wisdom... I will enjoy my yucca even more now!
I'm about to post again for another ID. Thanks again... W.
