Please help ID this nice plant

    This plant has nice blue flowers, but the berries are more interesting in late summer. Sorry, no pictures of the berries. The plant grows about 1.2 m tall, wide swords.
    Please help identify this plant.

    Dianella caerulea I believe.

    Dianella certainly, but not D. caerulea, which is our common east-coast species here, in moister habitats especially. Dianellas are difficult to identify, but I wonder whether this might not be D. nigra, the sole New Zealand species.
