What plant can I use to cover my concrete wall ? Unfortunately, the ground beside the wall is also concrete. Is there a container plant that can do this ? If not, then any plant you can suggest is appreciated, I'll just have to remove the concrete to expose the soil. By the way, I live in Coastal Southern California.

Get a planter box. Look at Sunset WESTERN GARDEN BOOK for plant selection ideas.

Also can you start a plant (what ever is suggested) out to one side of the concrete base and train it over the wall. I am assuming there would be soil there.

A very cool book called "Gardening on pavement, tables, and hard surfaces" by George Schenk might give you a few ideas.

Alternatively, can you plant at the top of the wall and let plants droop over the wall?

That sounds like a neat idea!
