Plants use fungi to eat insects by proxy

    This nitrogen transfer should also apply to the fungi that trap nematodes.

    In fact the same case could be made for any of the organic gardening practises or natural events that increase the populations of soil organisms. As I understand it this is where nitrogen it retained in a "natural" or organically farmed soil, as compared with chemically fertilized soils.
